On January 30th at La Textil Collective we will premiere our first film production: "It Almost Happened One Night" a film by Millie Mason
Logline: Having liked each other for years but never admitting it, Grace and Michael spend a fraught evening together in an attempt to decide whether to pursue a romantic relationship, but not all love stories can have a future.
The film stars Fern-Louise Sutton as Grace and Seán Doyle as Michael with cinematography by local DOP, Nahuel Beade. Composing and sound design by Roman Schoenbichler
Millie Mason is a writer and director from Nottingham, England. Born and raised loving the productions at her local theatre, the Nottingham Playhouse became the grounds of her absorbing everything theatre and the arts; after discovering script writing through her BA English Literature from the University of Sheffield, she went onto write ‘It Almost Happened One Night’ during her MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London.
With experience directing in theatre and getting to observe Rob Hastie during the 2019 production of ‘Guys and Dolls’, Millie recognised that her passion for writing and directing could co-exist. With many scripts under her belt, ‘It Almost Happened One Night’ marks Millie’s exciting directorial debut. Now with more projects on the horizon, including being granted a seed fund to write an original play for a UK-based producer, her portfolio as a writer and director is growing fast.
